Contacts

Augusta County Busted Mugshots is a private reference resource, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody or release, post bond, release a person, or retrieve official booking records. Contact the agency or court that holds the record for those services.

Official Augusta Record Contacts

Use the record holder that matches the question. The Sheriff’s Office handles its own incident and arrest reports, while Middle River Regional Jail is the first contact for jail-held booking records and releasable adult intake photographs. Courts handle later case events and dispositions, not custody confirmation.

Virginia FOIA generally requires an agency response within five working days under Va. Code § 2.2-3704. The adult initial-intake booking-photo rule is in § 2.2-3706; the agency still evaluates the particular record and any exception.

  • For active regional custody, begin with the official MRRJ public roster. A no-result can reflect release, other custody, or no match.
  • For a booking record or adult intake photo held by MRRJ, use the jail’s FOIA contact and identify the person and approximate intake date.
  • For an ACSO incident or arrest report, use the Sheriff’s FOIA portal or its listed records channels.
  • For a later court result, contact the appropriate Augusta court. Court staff do not provide jail custody confirmation.
  • For state-prison or supervision status, use the Virginia Department of Corrections locator, which is separate from a recent local booking search.
  • For federal or immigration detention, use the official BOP Inmate Locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator. Those tools are not substitutes for MRRJ custody records.
